About Wellinhand

Wellinhand helps the people who run community venues — village halls, churches and other places of worship, sports and social clubs, community centres — get ready for Martyn's Law (the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025) without fear and without being sold things they don't need.

What we believe

The government is clear that complying with Martyn's Law needs no purchased products, and the Security Industry Authority endorses nothing — including us. We say so on every page. The standard-tier duties are deliberately simple, the official guidance is free, and most of the work is a morning's honest thinking.

So we don't sell compliance. What's genuinely hard for a venue run by a changing committee isn't knowing what to do — it's remembering: who was briefed and when, when the review is due, where the evidence is, and keeping all of that alive through handovers. That's the part we help with. Memory and evidence, not a magic compliance badge.

How that shapes the site

It's why our tools and guides give you the answer for free, with no email gate, and why our writing avoids fear, penalty-led scare tactics and any suggestion that software is required. If the honest answer is "you're probably out of scope" or "you don't need to do anything yet", that's what we'll tell you.
